Bochy ejected after umpires reverse call, costing Rangers a strikeout
Watch as Texas Rangers manager Bruce Bochy gets ejected from their game against the Minnesota Twins on Saturday after arguing about a reversed foul-tip call, that cost his team a strikeout.
Patrick Mahomes takes his Dallas sports fandom very seriously.
For Saturday’s Game 2 of the Western Conference Final between the Dallas Stars and Edmonton Oilers, there were some famous spectators in the crowd, including Mahomes’ Kansas City Chiefs teammate Travis Kelce.
Kelce’s appearance on the jumbotron made the rounds on social media, and caught the eye of Mahomes.
“Yo get out of my arena!!” Mahomes said to Kelce on his personal X account.
Mahomes was born in nearby Tyler, Texas, then played his college football at Texas Tech in Lubbock.
And although he’s now the face of an NFL franchise from another state, his rooting interests in the other major sports clearly remain with teams from Dallas.
After Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic hit a game-winner with just three seconds remaining in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals on Friday, Mahomes was not shy about sharing his excitement. (Perhaps it helps that Kansas City does not have NHL or NBA teams).
And even though Mahomes wanted Kelce out of the arena, the Stars social media account seemed to welcome Kelce with open arms. There was even a little light ribbing due to his relationship with Taylor Swift.
This is far from the first time Kelce has stepped foot in a hockey arena, as he and his brother Jason played growing up in the Cleveland area before they focused on football.
He even took a shot at Mahomes after his quarterback called him out on social media.
The official account of the brothers’ podcast “New Heights” also shared a picture of the two playing as kids, and it’s clear that their team wasn’t lacking any size with the two on the ice.
Maybe, one day, Kelce will get a chance to make his return to the ice. It just better not be in Dallas, or his quarterback might be on his case.
