After unprecedented off-season, Utah HC is ready for the spotlight
“There’s not really a playbook,” owner Ryan Smith says, for what his Utah Hockey Club accomplished this off-season. Now, with a new city and state behind them, they’re ready to take the ice for an emotional, historic opener in their new home.
The Utah Hockey Club is officially entering the NHL on Tuesday night and fans in Salt Lake City are ready to rock.
Utah welcomed Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks to town for the first game in franchise history. Before the game, players were greeted by fans as they entered the Delta Center on a blue carpet. The fans were also treated to a concert from country music act Shaboozey and enjoyed games and food from local vendors.
Inside, every fan was given a rally towel on their seat to give the first home game a playoff atmosphere.
