Eagles’ Jalen Hurts a go despite coach contradicting injury status

Jalen Hurts is clear on the injury report to play for Philadelphia at the Dallas Cowboys after coach Nick Sirianni revealed Friday his quarterback is dealing with an ankle issue.

The Vancouver Canucks have traded forward Daniel Sprong to the Seattle Kraken for future considerations.

Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman was first to report the news Friday night.

Sprong, 27, signed with the Canucks this off-season on a one-year, $975,000 contract after spending 2023-24 with the Detroit Red Wings.

In nine games with the Canucks, the right-shot winger has scored one goal and three points while registering a minus-two rating. He has averaged 11 minutes and 39 seconds of ice time per game.

“We would like to thank Daniel for his time here in Vancouver,” said Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin in a news release from the team. “With his help our team has started the year in a positive way, and we wish him the best in Seattle.”

A nine-year NHL veteran, Sprong has scored 86 goals in 353 games, spending time with six different teams. He previously played parts of two seasons with Seattle in 2021-22 and 2022-23.

The Kraken are looking for an offensive spark after losing nine of their first 14 games. Sprong had his best NHL season with them, setting career highs with 21 goals and 46 points and matching his best assist total with 25.

Sprong was originally a second-round pick of the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2015 draft and has now been traded four times.
