Lynx top Liberty to stay in race for top overall seed in WNBA playoffs
The Minnesota Lynx have had the best of the New York Liberty this year, winning two of the three regular season matchups and the Commissioner’s Cup final.
A flurry of bad news took over the Minnesota Vikings and San Francisco 49ers game on Sunday.
On a single unfortunate play late in the third quarter, Vikings star wide receiver Justin Jefferson and 49ers star defensive lineman Nick Bosa both exited the game and were helped to their respective locker rooms.
Jefferson got caught between 49ers defenders and went down, grabbing at his leg. He managed to walk off the field under his own weight. It was later reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter that he would be questionable to return with a right quad injury.
Jefferson later told reporters that he wasn’t “seriously injured” and is expecting to be ready to go by next Sunday.
Bosa got knocked into a scrum of players on the ground and was helped off the field by his team’s medical staff. There was no initial word on what the injury might be for the former defensive player of the year.
49ers tight end George Kittle was also hurt a few plays before that one. He went back to the team’s locker room to be looked at, and according to Schefter, received an IV. However, he later returned to the game with the broadcast confirming that he was just cramping.
