Texans’ Collins says he was fined for throwing ball to kid after TD
Houston receiver Nico Collins was fined about $5,000 this week for throwing a football into the stands after a touchdown against the Titans.
The Toronto Maple Leafs will be without their starting goalie for the remainder of Thursday’s game against the Anaheim Ducks.
The team announced at the start of the second period that Anthony Stolarz would not return to the game after suffering a lower-body injury. He was replaced between the pipes by Joseph Woll.
It’s not clear when in the first period he suffered the injury, but he stopped seven of the eight shots he faced in the opening frame.
Per Daily Faceoff‘s Frank Seravalli, Stolarz’s injury is not believed to be significant.
Stolarz, 30, joined the Maple Leafs in free agency after winning a Stanley Cup with the Florida Panthers as their backup goaltender. The Edison, N.J. native found his stride with the Leafs and leads the NHL in save percentage (.928) across 16 games. He also boasts a 2.18 goals-against average.
Woll, appearing now in his 11th contest, owns a .919 save percentage and 2.20 goals-against average to round out one of the more impressive goalie tandems in the league to date.
